Dine Out Vancouver Festival 2017 – TAPshack Eatery
It’s been over 5 years since I officially began covering Vancouver’s food and beverage scene. My partner in Crime Wes the Waiter shared my love for finding awesome deals at cool spots around town. We started with note pads and a twitter account and now have expanded with a multi-media platform known as VanCity Drinks. Being one of the founders does have its perks. I look forward to the end of January every year as I cover Dine Out Fest Vancouver!

Dine Out is one of the best times of the year as Vancouver establishments offer three course meals at a hell of a discount. I had the pleasure of trying out Vancouver’s newly branded TAPshack Eatery formerly known as the Pirate Pub. Located on Vancouver’s breathtaking seawall directly under Burrard Bridge, The TAPshack boasts a magnificent view of Granville Island and False Creek.
I first discovered this oasis while rollerblading the seawall (I’m not ashamed). It’s a perfect spot to cool down and enjoy some west coast dining after trekking around the seawall. The staff is always welcoming as the beautiful view keeps spirits high. Currently, TAPshack is offering a $20 three course Dine Out menu that will leave you satisfied. I popped in for a Sunday Funday to watch some football, sip on a caesar and try it out.
Let’s Eat
We started with the Mushroom soup which was delicious as well as a green salad because I’ve been covering Dine Out all week and I needed some veggies! For the main courses, I went for the fire roasted Margherita Pizza as well as the Craft Beer Bratwurst. First time I had seen a Bratwurst on a Dine Out so I had to try it. Stout-poached bratwurst, crispy onions, pale ale mustard, brioche bun, and beer and cheddar sauce accompanied by cole-slaw. Just the type of comfort food I needed, goodbye hangover!
TAPshack is an awesome spot to watch the game with Happy Hour everyday 4-6pm and 8pm-Close. For all you football lovers $5 pints of Phillips all day Sunday! I am a huge craft beer lover and supporter which is why I must salute TAPshack. Their dedication to supporting B.C.’s bursting beer scene fills me with patriotism and of course delicious beer! Next time your cruising the seawall stop by and stay a while!
